Meet The Potter
Hi I'm Jordan,
I started ceramics in 2015, my freshman year of high school. I continued doing ceramic throughout my remaining years in high school. After high school I had taken a brief break from any type of art. It wasn't till lockdown that I had re-discovered my passion for ceramics. During lockdown, I needed a creative outlet that I had once found throwing clay. I bought a wheel and threw for hours every week. At the time I wasn’t necessarily making anything to keep, only to keep my hands and mind busy . In 2022, I was fortunate enough to find a small home studio in Monrovia owned by a talented artist, Emilie Parker. After a few months of being a member at the co-op, Emilie took me under her wing as her assistant instructor . I have been working as the studio assistant and instructing wheel thrown lessons. I find so much joy in teaching students what I have learned and seeing their excitement as they progress in wheel throwing.
